Companions HiFollowing weeks of waitingf, Yesterday I watched a programe on the discovery,it was called clash of the generals. The Idea was that a gulf war American general was to take the part of Alexander on the Battle field of Canea the British Gulf was general Sir Peter Delibilia was to be hannibal.Any way they studied and prepaired there pland for battle, The American knew how the Romans boxed in and beat the Romans at Canae,, So the guy thought of a plan to take Hannibal on the wings.Anyway the British general basically drew the American Alexander into his own trap on the wings resulting in Alexander losing the battle and getting killed in the procedure. It reall showed nothing about Alexander and Hannibal but demonstarated the difference between gun ho charge in and take them out of the American general and the cool calculated thinking British General.Im absolutely sure Alexander wouldnt have benn suckererd with Hannibals pretend fall back and trap tactics. What with Time Commander and now this it appears that everone else gets Alexander killed its ony himself that keeps him alive.regards

Hi Kenny,
This is very interesting as on History Channel, The True Story of Alexander was shown again and was followed by a story on Hannibal. Interesting coincidence. I watched the True Story of Alexander again which featured famous historians Peter Green, and other history professors of Alexander. It was done very well, and emphasized the building of the mole at the Battle of Tyre.I had seen Hannibal on Decisive Battles, so I did not watch the rerun of his life again, despite its being so interesting.I recently also saw a French movie taking place in WWI, and the movie Fog of War, both making me wonder at how many wars much each and every generation have to suffer. The French movie is called a Very Long Engagement starring Audrey Tatou. It is quite good, as it depicts the struggle between Germany and France vividly. It simply occurs to me that there has been much more in the way of war on earth than in the cause of peace. Dommage!

It uses the engine from the PC game 'Rome Total War' by the way. Has anyone here played it? Its very good, though not without its flaws.
