Hi Emma,If it helps you to refine your research a bit, Alexander did nothing in China. He also did nothing in Russia, although during his campaigns Bactria and Sogdiana he did enter part of what was the USSR, now bits of Tajikistand and Uzbekistan.The reference to China might be to do with the availability of trade goods to the West as a result of Alexander's conquests (but after his death); although the extent to which this was a reality is still under discussion (that is, how much trade really occurred, and would it have happened anyway, had Alexander not done his stuff?)
