Hi Lazar,Excellent books! As I've seen so far, N. Hammond is frequently quoted on this forum. So, this books make an attempt to illuminate the problem associated with determining ethnicity of the ancient Macedonians .... it's really interesting how they don't agree with Hammond's interpretations on a number of points concerning this. I don't know Alexander ordered to build it or Darius III himself but I think if Alexander or his successors could finish it, this mausoleum could be one of the world's wonders. I don't know much about these Mausoleum that your talking about, but it sure sound interesting! I wonder how come it wasn't finished by Alexander or Darius III? I mean Alexander had quite a brillant mind and if he could have finished it I bet it would have become, easily the ninth wonder of the world. I don't think it would have had as great as an effect if it was finished by Darius III. Do you know if the film (that looks worthwhile to watch I might add) put in any kind of references to this Mausoleum?

The monument described is the so-called "unfinished tomb" at Persepolis. We know the tombs of all major Achaemenid kings until Artaxerxes III; plus this one.
