And I have to say that I'm very intrigued about what Baz would have done with the story, and how he would have attacked it. I admire his other films, but I can't help but get a feeling that his Alexander would have ended up being some sort of cross between Derek Jarman's 'Sebastian' and 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert' :-)All the bestMarcus

Exactly. I was afraid that the type of movie that Luhrman makes (and which I like) is ill suited for Alexander. Too much music, too light-hearted, too much art direction. It works for small-scale drama like Romeo and Juliet, but I can't imagine Porus singing on the battlefield.On the other hand, they also said that comics were unsuited to tell the Holocaust story, and Art Spiegelman showed that it was possible; so perhaps, Luhrman's project might have worked.Jona

Not necessarily a bad thing ("Strictly Ballroom" is one of my favourite films), but I can't visualise it working for AtG.M
