Without doubt, there's going to be a lot more of this while the movie is a news item. This is hardly news though, so I imagine that Stewart has been misquoted or his words taken out of context.

Hello Marcus,Thanks for posting up the article. A similar article was to be found in the copy I bought of "History" by national geographic. I think it has even gone through the forum.It was by Andrew Chugg and allegedly was revealing the actual resting place of Alexander's body.I suppose as has been mentioned, while the "buzz" around the film lasts we can expect more of these the closer it gets to premiere time.Best regards,

Greetings All,Yes, we can expect the movie to bring out all sorts.. on another BB it was posted that on Sept 18 a group of people are holding a lecture in several nations that will include the announcement that one of the mentors (recently deceased) of Gary Smith, a new age guru, was the reincarnation of Alexander... who apparently "rode a white horse" across the known world on a spiritual quest (Mission Accomplished!).. while conquering nations, with Mr. Smith along for the trip. If people *are* going to do this sort of thing, I wish they would get the details right (laughing). Expect more of the same.... and I see yet *more* Alexander books are coming out. Market saturation can be a death knell- but on the other hand, the way things are going, perhaps that will not be a bad thing (laughing) Regards,

Interesting article but nothing too new. Of course the Greeks were in parts of Asia and Asia Minor long before Alexander crossed over to claim back land taken by Persia. But now there are people who are going to make a banquet out of this subject we can expect to read and hear a lot of various things pro & con. And all the 'romance' legends about Alexander (the ones people love to believe) will no doubt also be emphasised. It's reallye exciting though to know that Alexander is still such a popular figure all these centuries after his life ended! (it helps keep him 'alive') ruthaki

Indeed not really new. I'm not sure whether the movie has anything to do with it. It looks like the typical "excavation in need of money and thus in need of spectacular finds"-thing.
