i check ou this site a lot because i love alexander and/or anything to do about him or his life. i started reading about alexander starting with mary renault's "the persian boy" then read "fire from heaven" and now i am reading "the nature of alezander". in fact there are a lot of references throughout "the nature of alexander" which will appeal to all alexander-addicts like me. tina

"Fire From Heaven" is the best of the triology. "Funeral Games" is disappointing, written not long before her death. Aside from her Alexander books, read some of her others "The Mask of Apollo" is a favorite of mine. And the two books about Theseus "The King Must Die" and "The Bull from the sea". And if you want to read an excellent book about Alexander (in his voice!) look for Stephen Prescotts soon-to-be released "The Virtues of War."
I've read the reader's advance copy and it's a real treasure. ruthaki

Mmm, Ruthie, I didn't like the online excerpts at all and thought they were dull and dry, but we all have different opinions which is what makes this forum so interesting. However, I'm sure as a writer you know that old saying that goes something like "I don't care what they say about me as long as they spell my name right." Well, it's Steven Pressfield and not Stephen Prescott!!:-)Best regards,Linda Ann
