In a week or two, I'll be visiting Paris to see the Azara herm (
http://www.beazley.ox.ac.uk/CGPrograms/ ... e/C151.jpg ), we recently discussed.I want to take pictures - but does anybody know whether that is permitted in the Louvre? If not, I'll have to ask an official permit, have letters of recommendation, make an appointment etcetera - which will cost a lot of preparation.Jona

It does not have the large eyes one is used to see on the coinage.

Out of curiosity I've just had a look at the website for the Louvre. It seems you can take photos, but they ask you to refrain from using flashes (sic.)Marcus

Indeed, they're kind. I had mail-contact with one of the people working there, who explained me everything I needed to know. I also need to take a picture of a particular cuneiform tablet, and expect that they will help me with that one too.Jona
