A real mixture.I felt the movie didnt take us anywhere,The Trojans could have driven the Greeksd straight back into the sea.The Greeks were painted as power hungry andopinionated which was aboyt right, and we reaaly didnt feel for any of the chatacters, to be honest I could have done with a total change so that Achilles saved the girl escaped and lived happily ever after. To cut it down to a couple of weeks really wasted the story of the Illiad. But what i did like was the character of Achiles his self belief and the nobleness and isf thats what Alexander was trying to emulate then he cant be knocked,it also showed Achilles to be human Just as Alexander did things in mopments of madness, the dragging round of Hector was madness fueled by grief.I like Achilles and reall hope they use the Alexander story, however my evey for detaildidnt include the way the sun rose, thats rather anoraky to say the least.regardsKenny

I haven't seen it yet. I will, but I'm preparing to be 'disappointed' (except for that exceptional eye-candy!) I've read the Iliad so many times, refer to it constantly while writing my novel, so I'm sure I'm going to sit there and pick holes in the script. However, what can you expect from a Hollywood epic. Let's just hope that Oliver Stone does a better job with Alexander. ruthaki

Hi Ruth,Try not to get too hung up on the plot when you see it. When you think about it, the Trojan War is not really very filmable in its (myriad) literary form(s), so I totally accepted that they would have to change things. They've ended with what is, in my opinion, a perfectly acceptable film - and let's face it, if you didn't know the Iliad so well, you wouldn't know any better.(Of course, the film covers so much more than the Iliad does - if anything, where they've brought the Iliad into the story they've actually been very true to the plot.)All the bestMarcus

Oh, it was a shock seeing Achilles jumping out from the Horse.... and crying over Hector's corpse, instead of Patroklos'...What about "freckled-faced Patroklos"? That's too much!!:P :PBut I enjoyed myself nevertheless. Brad is wow as Achilles, and I think his way of running and fighting is adorable.i
