I saw a list of a poll one of our papers did to declare the top 20 movie heroes of all time ill try relay some of them;No1 and tops was Maximus- Gladiatorthen the likes ofSpiderman
Superman
Aragon
Judah Ben Hur
Legolas
Hawkeye-Last of The Mohicans
Hans Solo
Indiana Jones
Batman
Conan The Barbarian
Tarzan
El Cid.Something like that and 10 others to make 20,upon reading the list and looking at these movie heroes, the way they differ from our hero is that they were fantasy,or made up. So with Alexander I wonder if he will be the first real super hero.Even heroes Like John wayne or stallone were made up.Any opinions on this post folksRegardsKenny

Greetings,I am fascinated by the concept of the hero culture, as defined by different cultures. How would "hero" be defined in order to qualify these characters/people for that role? What qualities does a "hero" have? What is the perceived character of a hero? And at what point would a hero fall from grace/ fall from favour? Regards,
Sikander

HiThe dictionary defines hero as: a man distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility etc. A man who is idealised for possessing superior qualities in any field. I guess it depends on your vantage point - one persons hero could be another persons tyrant. A major role in a movie can help.Regards,Chris

I will play along a bit in this heroic stuff! Only to make a complaint! Spiderman! Ouch! That movie is so bad, so trite, that I can hardly stand it! I just saw it and it was terrible! Copying Superman's Clark Kent in Peter Palmer or Parker is not anything but stupid! The poor picked on 97 pound weakling who didn't have Charles Atlas but had only a spider bite to make him a victim of steroid like substances. Maybe he should try out for the Olympic games! As a hero, he is anything but...that's Hollywood for you. Sorry, I probably should have kept my mouth shut.
