Ancient Biological Warfare

Greetings Companions!Has anyone read Adrienne Mayor's "Greek Fire, Poison Arrows, and Scorpions Bombs: Biological and Chemical Warfare in the Ancient World"? I read an exhaustive and intriguing commentary about the book in one newspaper this week, and another commentary back in October in the New York Times. Naturally, ATG was included in the book (regarding the Phoenicians use of red-hot sand in the Tyre seige. I'd like feedback from anyone who *has* read it or perused it. I infer from the articles that it is a work of both scholarship and creativity, paralelling ancient and modern warfare. If I can locate a website that shows either article, I will post the site's address. I do not have the time (or energy) to type out the article here. Try http://www.newsday.comCheers!Thalestris
