well guys I jast watched gaugamella on time commanders and it really was a let down.It did not mention the persians 200 sythed chariots and thay had darius seated on a horse as he was actually behind the infantry in his royal chariot.Alexander did real off to left as to draw his Phalanx away from the fairway the Persians had prepared for there chariots.Did anyone else see it and what did you think?regards Alexes desciple

I saw it, and enjoyed the final explanation of the actual battle was won. I am sure it is basic but it helped me visualise it. However, the "time commanders" bit I couldn't really understand. I don't see how the Macedonians could be said to have won when Alexander had been killed..

I suspect a lot of it was limited by the computer program. Did you notice how suspiciously like hoplites the macedonian phalangites looked!? Big shields!
Still, I suppose I could see the macedonians retaining their discipline if Alexander had fallen in battle. The rout of the persians when Darius fell would also have been likely!
