Awesome, wasn't it? Do you think it's true that the Greeks had such a weapon? You never hear of Alexander using fire on the battlefield. Perhaps it was just too hard to control, they'd have enough problems with dust, I suppose, without smoke obscuring the view.
There was an impressive scene in 'Troy' where they were rolling balls of blazing stuff at the enemy, though now I come to think of it, that was the Trojans. I can't help thinking that was a modern director's way of compensating for the lack of exploding ordnance than a reflection of real practice!
