Greetings,
Or more likely, just too busy. I think Thomas, Susan and Nick are the primary moderators at this time, and I am certain they are *more* than too busy! If not, a few other comments would have been edited (and I do not refer to Vasko's, necessarily, nor the "gay" threads..)
I believe the moderators work hard *not* to be prejudicial or favour any particular person or view.
Regards,
Sikander

Hi Companions -I fear your most active moderator is... a Dutch guy. Me.Let me be honest. I have no clue who the other moderators are that have access to the code for deleting messages. I don't know if Sikander has those rights. I recently suggested that both Susan and Marcus should have access to the code - but this is Thomas' site. I don't feel I have the right to pass the code without his approval. And I won't.In the last six months I have deleted more messages than ever before. What once was a difficult exceptional decision two years ago, has become a weekly routine. In general I immediately delete all those messages that explicitely relate to pornography (there have been a few), those that explicitely abuse an etnic group or encourage racial hatred, or those that explicitely condemn certain sexual preferences. My greatest worry during the last week was the posting about Leni Riefenstahl's (name correct?) death. But I figured that the posting didn't invite anyone to sympathise with facist thought, so I did not delete that message. But that decision did not make me happy - to tell you the truth.I generally look at the site early morning (European time) and evening. Normally also once or twice during daylight. But due to time differences with e.g. the US, sometimes entire threads can build up while I am sound asleep. If anyone, ever, has the feeling that a posting is harmful or abusing to any group of peoples (beyond decent personal one-on-one feuds) please e-mail me directly. My e-mail is found on the author's pages or on the Forum. Please allow me to think one moment about your complaint. I will delete messages immediately as soon as I think that that would be beneficient to the Forum in general.Nick

Greetings,
Sorry, Susan- my error. I thought at one time you were a moderator..
Nick, I do have "rights" but not the machinery at this time- I am constantly battling failures, shut-downs, etc,but I do not want to worry about new systems until I am finally settle din one place, for good.
Glad to see you are "ever alert".. I hope you were able to catch and delete the post recently that made a reference to "repulsive in the extreme".. and that is all I will say, since I have no desire to get *that* rolling again!!!
Anyway, thanks for the hard work and the quality of thought I know you bring to your decisions regarding deletion.
Regards,
Sikander

Thirteen out of nineteen message threads in this post have nothing to do with ScottO's question but some are good for a positive laugh. Soon as S gets settled in I'll bet a small amount of whatever I will be history from this forum, oh well back to the history channel web site, so much for democracy, freedom of speech and expression.(I do agree with the deletion of racial slurs). It's too bad this web site does not accept Greek fonts. There's a couple of web pages that will teach you how to write in Greek, if you have the time.I didn't include this message in my poll

Andrew,What makes you think you'd be unceremoniously ejected? I'm not aware that you have contravened any of the unwritten 'rules' - or have you?All the best (notching up yet another post that has nothing to do with Scott's question).Marcus

Greetings Andrew,
You'd lose your bet. I have editing capabilities *most* of the time and you're still here. This isn't about setting up cliques or "Divide and conquer"..

Sikander
