Burial of Alexander's body at Memphis

Post by Kate »

Hi everyone,According to Diodorus Ptolemy originally buried Alexander's body at Memphis. He says that the tomb was in the traditional Egyptian style. Then Ptolemy II transferred the body to Alexandria to a new tomb. Does anyone know the actual dates for either of these burials? Or want to make an educated guess? I ask a) out of interest and b) because I'm trying to find out when "tourists" began to arrive at the Sema (Soma).Cheers,Kate

I believe he was buried in Alexandria, not Memphis.
