software update
Apologies for the forum being offline this afternoon and early evening but I was trying (unsuccessfully) to update the software. This is the first time this has been done on the new host and for some reason it wouldn't work, so I've restored it back to its original state.

Re: software update
not sure what the software update is about, but as a teenager studying classics i think the format of this 'internet forum' is really cool.
I really dig the emojis too lol.
Thank you for your work and everybody who has contributed to this great site. Alexander was great, is great and all the people here will be great forever! Thank you to everybody who has had any contribution to this site, I will hold this forever in my heart deeply.

Re: software update
Hi, and welcome!
I have been trying to update the phpBB software which the forum uses, but unsuccessfully.
Glad you have joined the forum, but please be aware that there are very few contributors left these days (the forum has been going a long time). However, I will try to answer any questions you may have.

Re: software update
Thank you. Will be taking classics this year (Alexander the great) but further on will move to the Aeneid, next year the illiad, more to come.
I will probably tell a few friends taking classics about this but not sure how much interest they'd take. Still really useful to just go through for study notes. How much do you mean by very few? I would assume that due to the amount of time this site has been up for, most topics of Alexander have already been thoroughly debated!

Re: software update
That would be good if you could encourage others to join the forum! There are probably only about half a dozen people left who contribute, but a few more lurkers. However, those who do contribute include Dr. Jeanne Reames, who is an Alexander/Hephaestion expert! She does teach full time though, so may not have time to give detailed responses. This is her website https://jeannereames.net/.

I was also wondering if there was anything on Alexander and his obsession to compete with Achilles, Herakles, etc. - on the site?

[Her youtube channel is great!]
