Alexander's birthdate

Post by Alexias »

Following hiphys's recent query about Alexander's birthdate being given as 20 or 26 July in older history books, and following mavra22's query on Maurice Druon's novel, which has astrological stuff in it, some of you may find this interesting. It comes from Druon's novel.

I personally think that the 22/23 July date is the most probable. Those who have even a little knowledge about the astrological signs, would immediately see how Alexander doesn't fit into a 'Cancerian' mold at all! Plus, many ancient historians have repeatedly emphasized the 'fiery' nature of his temperament. And that would correspond so nicely with him being born when the Sun had just entered Leo! (Add to this his 'leonine' characteristics, and Olympias' dream of her womb being sealed by the image of a lion). Also, Aries as his Ascendant seems pretty much true too. Because Ascendant is the face a person shows to the world; and Alexander has literally been depicted with Ram's horns since centuries - starting from his very lifetime!
