Her name was Lanike and she was Kleitos the Black's sister as Ithink someone has said above,One woman we have all forgotten is Antigone Philotas' mistress who allegedly passed on his pillow-talk!
When you think about, it free-choice is the only possible option.

Thanks, Ruth, and Marcus, for the information. I appreciate all the years of research and dedication you have made on the subject. As I have only recently discovered ATG and his influence, please forgive my ignorance and curiosity. I sincerely appreciate any and all opinions and answers, whether academic or just merely interested. I hope I do not offend when asking questions.

Plus there was Alexander of Epirus' comment that he fought men and Alexander fought women - which no doubt endeared him to Alexander.Susan

Wasn't he just contrasting the manly Italians with the effeminate Persians, though? So not real women, nor real men if you believe xenophobic anti-Iti comment!

Yes, but you could easily put it into an essay as a joke, couldn't you ? I've always read it as a bit of a dig at ATG - there were just too many women paying him attention. We don't know what Cleopatra, ATG's sister, thought of him - she might have been quite jealous and complained to her husband that ATG was always the centre of attention. If the marriage had not happened before Philip's assassination I wonder who Cleopatra would have married ?Susan
