Ummm, some posts missing?
just noticed some posts missing, i beleive they were a part of the 'The end of mystery' thread.the posts related to mythological geaneology, any particular reason for the disappearing act?does't realy bother me, just curious - all seemed to be appropriate posts, I think from what I can remember.cheers!
Re: Ummm, some posts missing?
Greetings Smitty,I just spoke with a moderator on this. From what I understand, when the posts begin to slip from discussion and debate of facts into arguments/accusations of ignorance, or as soon as any name-calling begins, the moderators have the authority to begin to delete threads. Unfortunately, sometimes this means parts of the discussion that would be interesting also are lost. Appropriateness is relative; the moderators vary in their opinions. Some prefer to let things run a course longer, others prefer to "nip things in the bud". What this tells me is not that the moderators are wrong but to be aware of what I am writing and how I am writing it, so as to avoid deletion.
The top of the forum page clearly indicates that the Greek-Macedonian debate will not be part of the Forum.I think a lot of people would actually enjoy discussing the issue of how the *ancient Makedonians* saw themselves but modern arguments, political issues and nationalism on both sides always rears its ugly head and civil discussion on the ancient world gets mired in the modern. I am certain those modern arguments have validity, but not on this forum. This forum is focused on the ancient world. Regards,
Sikander

Hi Sikander,I agree entirely with what you say, although I must admit I'm a little baffled as to why these posts were deleted. I didn't think the discussion of Hesiod's, Apollodorus' etc. genealogical tables would incur such a response from the moderators, however, their job is not an easy one, so I guess their decisions to delete are made with the best intentMany thanks for your response
Cheers!

Cheers!
