I'm doing an open mic reading of several set-pieces of my epic poem, "The Epic of Alexander" Sunday night October 10th, 6:30 pm, at the famous Green Mill Tavern in Chicago. later Nicator

Not quite yet. The first half (through the sack of Persepolis) is finished except for the occasional addition of errant couplets. The second half is around 20% complete. I read the conclusion at an open mic read Wednesday night to the techno remix of Carmina Burana with Sarah Brightman on vocals. That went off fairly well (nobody boo'ed). The crowd was made up of mostly other poets. This was good because they gave me some good feedback on the read. Tonight I'll be doing the reading without music. Some complained that it took away from the poem (still others loved it just the way I did it and called it very bold and daring). I will let everyone know when the whole thing is finished. later Nicator
