I am not aware whether there is an english version of this but the original is in French. From the famous french writer Laurent Gaude. "Pour seul cortege" would be "His only (royal) escort" The story revolves around Drypetis just before and after Alexander's death. It's a powerful and moving text.

Ooh, thank you! I had actually been looking for something to read in French, which I read only OK. It looks like this is this author's second book on Alexander, and there's also Le Tigre bleu de l’Euphrate— have you read that one?
