A lady on http://www.diary.ru posted these images of waxworks from the new Archaeological Museum in Skopje, Macedonia.

The photo bears an uncanny resemblance to Alexander... it feels so right... it really feels like him...

But where does this picture come from? What waxwork??? Where did they derive this picture from of the blond guy???

The waxworks were made in Russia and are on display in Skopje, the Republic of Macedonia. No idea on what they have based the portrait - presumably the available images of Alexander as there isn't anything else except mentions in texts. For me, this face is too fleshy and the expression too anxious. I think it has been influenced by Colin Farrell, and myth (hence the blond hair).

Well, his face should be just a tad prolonged, harking back to the most realistic portrait of him by Lysippos. I don't know if he looks anxious, could just as well look focused..
