Re: New historical fiction on Alexander and friends
I liked the book enough to buy the hard copy for my library after reading the Kindle version. The young Alexander and the people as well as events that shaped him are portrayed in an interesting way in the book. Loved the author’s Hephaestion. The author has remained true to what we know about Alexa...

Re: Hephaiston's death
Thank you, Alexias, for such a detailed and educational reply. I had read the (translated) descriptions of Hephaestion’s death by Arrian, Diodorus, and Plutarch separately over the years. However, seeing them together with alternate translations is very educational.

Chris, I was looking for the URL as this project seemed very interesting (and massive). Do you still have working links? If yes, would you please share them? Hopefully, you have images as this project seems like an expression of admiration, persistence, and dedication. Thank you.

A Short Bio of ATG, with an Excellent Facial Reconstruction at the End
Although the bio has a few issues, the facial reconstruction at the end is definitely worth it. See Royalty Now’s presentation of ATG at https://youtu.be/e4mche63vr4

Alexander the Great and the Amazon Queen
Adrienne Mayor of Stanford University delivered a fascinating lecture at the University of Mary Washington in 2015 titled ‘Alexander the Great and the Amazons.’ Using the evidence from modern archaeology, ancient literature, art, folklore, and foreign historical traditions, she presents a case for t...

A Tribute to Aubrey Menen, the Author of ‘A Conspiracy of Women’
One of the best fictional portrayals of Hephaestion is in Aubrey Menen’s ‘A Conspiracy of Women.’ The sardonic favorite companion of ATG gets the best lines in the book. In order to go beyond the seeming chauvinism of its main theme and enjoy it, one needs to contextualize the book and the author’s ...

Re: The Face of Hephaestion: An Artistic Reconstruction
Thank you, Dr. Reames! It is sad that we don’t have a definite Hephaestion. I am thinking about commissioning artistic reconstructions using artificial intelligence (AI) of all eight likenesses of Hephaestion that Andrew Chugg provides in his book titled ‘Alexander’s Lovers.’ This type of commission...
