Re: Itinerarium Alexandri

...Just imagine what Science coud prove or disprove with Alexanders body What WOULD it prove or disprove? Maybe how he died could be proven once and for all. Or that Pillips tomb actually holds remains of relatives of Alexander without a doubt. Is there anything else? There's always the chance that...

I was going to fit the word "lust" in there somewhere as a possible alternative to them "loving" eachother. But I think "attraction" sums it up best.

Re: Alexander the Great and his 'equality'

I think Alexander could have had feelings for Roxanne. I don't believe that every single move he made was absolutely politically motivated. And Roxanne is one of those stories that might justify that. He had to of weighed the pros and cons to every step he took. Being in such an extreeme position of...

Re: Alexander the Great and his 'equality'

Perhaps I should only say that Alexander treated equal both Greek and persian (barbarian) aristocracies? That's a good question. The fact that he started wearing persian garb and integrating the persian army into his own? Was this because he was trying to equal out the two? Or was it strictly propa...

Re: Linothorax based off Alexander Mosaic

Aside from the elmers glue of course. Is the amount of layering and materials used pretty accurate historically speaking? Great job by the way. I've had the same idea for quite awhile but never got around to it. Do you have the bottom garment? Or whatever it may actually be called?

Re: Alexander the Great and his 'equality'

I wish to know on what arguments he based his theory about the unity of mankind, if someone is willing to reveal them. I would like to know as well. Asander, on what basis are you placing your theory that Alexander was for the unity of mankind? I'm not calling you out. I would really like to know w...

Re: Alexander the Great and his 'equality'

In my personal opinion, selling human beings is not a weak arguement when your discussing if a man wanted equality or not. But you are correct, it is possible unity was his goal, I'm afraid there is just no real evidence for it. Therefore, the arguement of wether or not that was his goal, seems to b...

Re: Alexander the Great and his 'equality'

Can we agree that there is no EVIDENCE claiming Alexanders involvement in a world peace movement? We all know he sold tens of thousands of HUMAN BEINGS into slavery. That point alone should push us far from any unity of mankind theory.

alexander and ghengis.

I'm posting this in off topic because I'm not sure if it belongs in the discussions forum. I'm not familiar in any way with the history of Ghengis Khan. (I'm even hoping I spelled his name correctly). But I do like to consider myself somewhat knowledgable on the history involving Alexander. Now, I'v...

Re: Alexander the Great and his 'equality'

I understand where your coming from. And I do believe that no theory should be considered nonsense especially when there are conflicts in the different sources where we get our information. I do hope your essay went well and through all the back and forth discussions some good came out of it for you.

Re: Alexander the Great and his 'equality'

Regarding the unity of mankind, no one has yet convinced me that is just a nonsense and nothing more. You originally asked if it was nonsense about Alexander believing in equality. And that you didn't want to write nonsense, then you say that its ridiculus to call Any theory nonsense. I just don't ...

Re: Alexander the Great and his 'equality'

Was Alexander, a king, equal with his subjects and peoples that he conquered? No. When it comes to the subject of Alexander, there truely is nothing more I would like to believe than his conquests were for the equality of mankind, or more for the original question, that he believed in the equality ...
