I have worked out how to add something to the FAQ and you can see my attempt at writing an FAQ entry here.

...so did you not check your messages until today?
For the record, my message to you has disappeared from the outbox. So I am guessing you have read it!

PM re-enabled
I have reenabled private messaging. Please comment in this thread if you have any success/failure. We'll keep an eye on it... N.B. I just read up on this, the theory is this (not that I quite believe this): If a message is in your out box it means that the message has not been read by the person it ...

Kill the messenger
I don't think I would have wanted to be the messenger. Probably would have been sent off with the words "Take this happy news to Alexandros"...theaccursed wrote:Had he truly wanted to provoke Alexander, he could have simply sent only a messenger, with a letter beginning with (something like):

For my 2p's worth, I found them quite reliable, but occasionally I got a server error and had to click b...

My 2p's worth
The most precocious leader of the ancient world who's influence still resonates today. A man who achieved through his deeds god-like status and then fell, like many powerful leaders, in to the trap of absolute power corrupting absolutely. There, that should light a few flames <donning tin helmet>. :...

What I expected
I have long thought that it would be nice to own a coin from this time.
But the prices are what I expected. Which is why I have never looked in to it too hard.

Any idea where we might find the pics or someone with good sketching skills? One has to be so careful about copyright nowadays.

This topic has been split
We were getting away from the main question and a little off topic, so I moved the gallipoli related thread to the off-topic forum.

A pothosian link to Gallipoli.
My great grandfather was a captain in the Royal Navy. He visited the Gallipoli peninsular early in the war and reported back that it was undefended and highly strategic. Could he please capture it? He was told not to be so imaginitive and basically to bugger off and sail the seas, which is what the ...

Love loyalty
I always wonder if it is "love loyalty" as in really like people who are loyal.
OR
Love...pause...loyalty, i.e. Love and loyalty.
I guess that is the beauty of a well designed motto...
Anyway it sums me up pretty well.
