A day in the Byzantine museum of Athens
Since I had a break for one hour and being close to the museum in question, I took the following photos, http://s1246.photobucket.com/user/IamSystem1988/library/A%20day%20in%20the%20Byzantine%20Museum%20of%20Athens?sort=3&page=1 Surely a different world than the one of ancient Greece and paganis...

Alexander trivia
Hi all It's common knowledge that one of Alexander's pet dogs was called Peritas (but I do not remember the source for this). There is a late epigraph, on the 5th verse of which the name is mentioned (which by the way is a name for a person not a pet) along with a commentary that states that the nam...

Hi all Just before I cast my vote.... http://www.lifo.gr/team/omorfia/48361 The msueum in the link above was closed for 8 years for renovation purposes. Needlsess to talk about the importance of the artifacts it pays host to, most from Minoan Crete. Among those are some I haven't seen myself: The ti...

Re: A unique medal
http://s1246.photobucket.com/user/IamSystem1988/library/Mentallion?sort=3&page=1 This is a link of some photos (not well taken, and not all of them) from the book. Agesilaos' review was very informative and of course, the authenticity of the medal is still on debate and in the question. The fact...

Re: The tomb of the Cassander family
This is a google translation, not perfect but one gets the drift Thank you very much for your fast reflexes on translating this. I don't think there is any need to go about fixing anything with it because the scientific world as well as the rest of us will soon learn the results of these excavation...

I saw "300- Rise of an Empire". No comments. There is however a nice scene in there which shows the setting Athens on fire that happened just before the naval battle of Salamis- the main story of the movie. The reality part now- the marble stele found in 1959 at Troizen during ploughing (h...
