Re: where can one hear Macedonian spoken?
Linda you are so perceptive. Yes I wanted to try writing something but I know the question I threw out here was not in keeping with the pace of this site. I was in a strange mood yesterday, that's the reason I did it.But on the more serious side I really wondered about the Macedonian language. And b...

I was wondering if anyone here has read Nicholas Nicastro's book?It implys that Stateira is raped by Alexander and that Arridaeus, his half-brother was the secret weapon of the Macedonians and brought about a lot of Alexander's success. It has a lot of other things in it I have never heard before.li...

Re: Tarsos and illness' duration
I'm not sure I understand when he first contracted malaria. Had he been suffering with malaria for many months before he died? I understand that it had cycles where it was active and then seemed to abate, but was it always there to weaken his immune system?I thought that he had been exposed to a few...

Re: The Scheme of Thais
Hi Cyrus,I can't say that I understand why some Iranians so closely equate Alexander and America. I know we derived a lot of things from the arts of Greece but didn't every culture? His decision to burn Persepolis for whatever the reason, maybe he was without his reasoning abilities when he did it, ...
