There is, though, far more than a hint that the man was a canine of the femminine variety. Clearly he was not liked and this has as much to do with the politics of Alexander's court as with the abilties or lack thereof of Hephaestion. Thankyou for the link to the dissertation Alexias- that looks pretty interesting. I will check it out. I don't really want to get into debating about exactly what physical component the relationship did or didn't entail.
