Hi,
Yep, this seems to make sense, and as Amyntoros says, is a great answer.

The Oasis at Siwah

Hello, it is often mentioned that, almost miraculously, the waters at the oasis are hot during the night and cold during the day but no one seems to write why. I checked out the page on the Pothos site on divininty where the Siwah oracle is detailed but no reason is given how the mechanism works. I ...

Hi,
I had read about the Mollosian dogs of Alexander's time which apparently were very powerful animals- and could take on a lion- they were used in the Roman arena.

Hello, This is for me one of the most interesting moments in the whole of the Alexander story. I mean here we have Philip- king of the hill, and his up and coming son together to "celebrate" another of his father's marriages. Olympias the scorned woman. Yet I don't suppose that she gave a ...

Hello, Reading the disparate comments on this thread- I find that we have gone off the topic and come back and then gone off once again. I don't understand the harm that it can cause talking about this subject when possibly discussing things in the open is in my opinion healthy. Are we going to get ...

Sikander said, Pothos has a reputation for its standard of debate; I have had people say "Pothos has set the bar higher.." I would like to see this continue. I think that this is absolutely true- on this forum I have found a wonderfully unique place where people's views are respected and d...

Feeling very cynical this morning, however - it won't make a huge amount of difference, because there will be people who won't ever look at it, and continue with their ill-informed opinions with no interest in rational argument and historical process. Maybe a lot of people wouldn't bother to check ...

Hello, I suppose that as far as homosexuality and Alexander the great is concerned we can say that people project a lot of their own agendas onto idols/famous people/etc. Bagoas and the "kiss in the theatre" after winning a dancing contest could be one of the few give away signs that he wa...
