Hi all,I know that stirrups we not used in ATG's army, but were metal bits used to control the horses?After the Macedonian horses were used up what were their choice of horse, from what lands?George

Dear George,
Not sure about your direct question, but there is a reference to the Persian horses being substantially reduced in number after Alexander returned to Susa...due to theft. There is an interesting evolution of the horse saddling and bit equipment and the evolution of human society in general.
