Hi to all! I would like to know how many years older was Thessalonice and which one of the Philip's wives was her mother? Thanks!

Thessalonice was the daughter of Nicesipolis of Pherae, who apparently died about three weeks after hre birth. She was named after one of Philip's victories in Thessaly, but it is not known which one.
There is uncertainty about her age. She married Cassander about 316 and had three children apparently in rapid succession; which might imply that she was relatively young; also Philip didn't arrange her marriage while he was still alive, which also implies that she was not of marriageable age then. It seems to boil down to the fact that there is a list of Philip's wives which may or may not be in chronological order, and Nicesipolis appears in the list before Olympias.
I think, on balance, that it is most likely that she was born towards the end of the 340s.Her fate matched that of other royal Argead women; after her husband and her son Philip's death within a short time of each other, she was murdered by her son Antipater; her other son was murdered by Demetrius; and Antipater was murdered by Lysimachus, his father-in-law. None of the Diadochi wanted any possible claimants with Argead blood surviving.Susan
