Re: Have archaeologists discovered the grave of Alexander?
If his body had been returned to Macedonia it would have been buried at Aigai in the Royal Tombs. And history points out it was seen in Egypt at the time of Caesar and Cleopatra so this is very unlikely. (I had a dream once his body was taken by the Romans and is somewhere in the Vatican and then so...

Re: Alexander and the Celtic language
Since I first posed this question I met up with a Greek history professor (studied in Chicago) who was the owner of the hotel I stayed at in Zakynthos. I began his captive audience once he knew I was a writer, writing about Greek history. And he informed me of a lot of Greek/Celt connections going b...

Re: My novel "Shadow of the Lion"
I just wanted to tell everyone that I have signed a book contract for my novel SHADOW OF THE LION with a UK publisher. They suggested they'll do it in two parts rather than cut anything important from the narrative and destroy the plot and character development. Aiming for August 2014 for the first ...

Re: My novel "Shadow of the Lion"
Thanks so much for your support in this respect. I decided to give it a shot through traditional publishers first because it was such an intense piece of work and I feel it is literary fiction for the amount of work I put into it. But if all else fails after a certain amount of time I will definitel...

Re: Alexander and the Celtic language
Thanks Alexias, I didn't think he would so when he meets the Celtic girl they communicate with signs and odd words in his or her language. I do know, however that Greeks were travelling as far as Britain long before the period of my novel and I knew the Macedonians had contact with them at the Danub...

Alexander and the Celtic language
Do you think that Alexander (the young Alexander, teen-aged) would know how to speak any of the Celtic language?

Re: My novel "Shadow of the Lion"
Thanks for your query Brie. The update is, the agent loved my novel, thought it was 'wonderful' but decided he didn't want to represent me as he didn't think historical fiction was selling. I was immediately encouraged to sent it to the asst. publisher at Thomas Dunn/St Martin's Press. He has it now...

Re: My novel "Shadow of the Lion"
Thanks for you comments Brent. My novel was read and received favorable critiques by another published writer who sent it to his agent. My comments recentely from the agent when I contacted him about the recent findings of the tomb near Amphiplis that 'might' be that of Roxana and Alexander IV, was ...

Re: My novel "Shadow of the Lion"
My novel "Shadow of the Lion" is in the hands of an agent who is currently reading it and says he's enjoying it. Fingers crossed for the next step. I've had super positive reviews of it by pothos member Scott Oden, writers Stephen Pressfield and Dr. John (Jack) Dempsey. And a special big t...

Re: An interesting tidbit - Roxane's tomb?
Yes fascinating but who knows? They have found lots of tombs around that area in the past and if there is no real identification it's hard to prove. However, it is a timely 'discovery' for me, considering my novel Shadow of the Lion (which covers the murder) is now in an agent's hands and this kind ...

Re: Bagoas in "Alexander's Lover" of Andrew Chugg
I believe there actually was a Bagoas who had first served Darius and was a rather prominent character in the Persian court. Not sure if this is the same Bagoas who Renault intended to portray in The Persian 'Boy. At any rate, these eunuchs were there to serve the king and pleasure him as needs be a...
