SHADOW OF THE LION
I'm very pleased with my publisher, MediaAria-CDM based in Bristol UK. Because of the length of the novel they are dividing it into two with the first coming out next August, subtitled "Blood on the Moon" and the second coming out 18 months later subtitled "The Fields of Hades". ...

Re: Have archaeologists discovered the grave of Alexander?
Certainly an interesting theory. I will continue to wonder. Meanwhile, my novel is coming out next August and Ptolemy continues to medtitate over Alexander's sarcophagus in the Soma of Alexandrea.

Re: Publicity for my novel Shadow of the Lion
The director/publisher himself of MediaAria-CDM is going to handle the final preps himself as 'an act of love' because he said he felt the work was 'one of great artistic endeavour." I feel very proud and pleased to have this honour. As they have decided to publish SHADOW OF THE LION as two boo...

Re: Have archaeologists discovered the grave of Alexander?
Or, the Macedonians believing whoever held the body, held the power. And that so long as the Macedonian kings were buried at Aigai their dynasty would last. (Which Alexander's didn't because he wasn't buried there.) Etc Etc. Who really knows for sure. The histories were written hundreds of years lat...

Re: Have archaeologists discovered the grave of Alexander?
Yes actually I think that the archaeologist or scholar who wrote about his body being in Italy mentioned the St Mark's tomb in Venice. Makes sense and sort of follows the theme of that strange dream I had.

Re: Alexander and the Celtic language
Of course they spoke Greek as the court language and their own tribal dialects. But these were educated men and Alexander was known to have a keen desire to learn about new things and other customs. So who says he would never attempt to learn some of the other languages - not to say he'd be 'fluent'...

Re: Ptolemy, son of Philip II ?
Everyone has their own opinions of Ptolemy and I've even read some that called him 'self-serving'. At any rate, in doing all my research for Shadow of the Lion, I concluded that he was trustworthy and well thought of not only by Alexander but by other members of the Companions and the court. At one ...

Re: Alexander and the Celtic language
How can you 'assume' he didn't learn Persian? He had, after all, Persian wives who didn't speak Macedonian. And there was a lot of trading going on in those days.

Re: Ptolemy, son of Philip II ?
I don't think Ptolemy was much older than Alexander. Possibly Philip was a teen-ager but likely a bit older than 13. However you never know in that day and age. LOL.

Re: Alexander and the Celtic language
According to the maps I have for my research there were Celtic tribes almost as far south as Illyria and of course to the Danube River. And there were Greeks traveling to "Britain" going quite a long ways back and recording things about it. There was a Greek colony in Massalia (now Marseil...

Re: Ptolemy, son of Philip II ?
I will try and remember where I learned details of this. I believe his mother was either one of the court ladies or another of Philip's romantic conquests. She later married a man named Lagos. But Ptolemy was always accepted in the Macedonian court.

Re: Publicity for my novel Shadow of the Lion
Things are moving along. I'm very impressed with this publisher so far. I'll keep everyone here informed. I've received so much help and advice from this site in the past while I was working on this very long novel project. Now I'm working on my other novel that is the Celt/Greek connection so you'l...

Re: Have archaeologists discovered the grave of Alexander?
Paralus, the book will be published in UK by August 2014. I did extensive research about Aristonous as he is an important (though minor) character in my novel and I never saw anywhere that he was not awarded that garrison post for his bravery on compaigns with Alexander or that he was not one of the...

Re: Have archaeologists discovered the grave of Alexander?
One of Alexander's favored garrison commanders, Aristonous, was killed by Kassandros at Amphipolis. Aristonous had won merit on the campaigns as one of the first men up the Soghdian Rock. He was well thought-of and a supporter of the royalty. I wonder if it could belong to someone like him?
