Re: Alexander the Great's time-keeping

Hi Yiannis, Where did you find out the names for Macedonian months? I did some research on this subject a while ago, but found very little. Did your source give any comparison to modern months? I know Loos is roughly the same as July, but I'd like to find out about the others. Thanks for any informa...

Re: Between Chaironea and Philip's Death

Hi,
May I ask for info on this video? Is it generally available in the UK? I am particularly interested in Alexander's life before he left for Persia so I like to read or watch anything which deals with that period.
Thanks for listening.
Cheers,
Kate

A lot of the rumours probably did begin after Alexander became so famous, but I suspect that Olympias did feed him stories of his brilliant destiny when he was y...

Re: Death of a tyrant

The tone of this article was ridiculous- all that rubbish about Alexander being a midget etc - but the actual information about Alexander's death wasn't bad. Maybe not a big surprise to members of this forum, but of interest to many Sunday Times readers I would imagine. Hopefully, the TV programme w...

Re: Death of Alexander - Sunday Times magazine

Hi,I read this article and thought it was interesting. At first the theory about Alexander accidentally poisoning himself with white hellebore sounds plausible, but it doesn't make sense when you take into account that Alexander knew its effects very well. Unless he took it when he was too drunk to ...
