Re: Lions Lead by Sheep

Rah,I don't know if you are interested, but in New Zealand there is a similar story about the Anzacs (Australia, NZ) at Gallipoli (in the Dardanelles) in 1915. Their commanders misinterpreted the messages from the British, and sent the troops ashore in the wrong place. The troops suffered heavy casu...

Re: has the movie brought us any new members?

Parmenion: "I would accept it, if I were Alexander."
Alexander: "So would I, if I were Parmenion."Elpi

Re: Hephaetion and Alexender deaths

Rah,That is incredibly interesting, but surely, if Alexander loved Hephaestion as much as the sources suggest, he would have been weakened by his death, and thus more susceptible to fever. My gut feeling is that Alexander was murdered, but maybe I just can't take having somebody who did such amazing...

Re: Three most burning questions

Rah,I'd be quite happy with any of the above questions, but I think I'd want to know general things about Hellenistic Greece that could not only be applied to ATG, but to other people and issues of the time. I'd also want to know more about his relationship with Hephaestion - not just sexually, but ...

Death of Philip II

Rah,I'm interested to know who people think murdered Philip. I've been doing some research for an essay I'm supposed to be writing, but I find very little opinion, and want to know about people's gut feelings. Everybody is very standoffish, or else they attempt to implicate/exculpate Alexander. Plea...
