I am also wondering who the tomb belonged to if not to Alexander IV. I have yet to see the tomb for myself, but The Museums of Macedonia say, Last is the tomb of the prince, which is ascribed to Alexander IV, the son of Alexander the Great. It closely resembles Philip’s, though it is smaller and ins...

 All this time I thought Colin Farrell was crazy for dying his hair, but now he might not have been too far off. I looked around for some more sources and found the following. First, Beauty and the Bath says: Color as well played a very significant role for beauty standards. Blond hair was thou...

Re: Bucephalus statue in AZ
I just have to tell you that there is a special statue of Bucephalus here in Scottsdale, AZ. It is standing in front of a nearby store on Main Street replacing a former statue of Thomas Jefferson. I don't know how long Bucephalus will remain in front of this storefront, but I have taken a few photo...

Re: I AM THE GREAT HORSE by Katherine Roberts
Isn't that interesting? I just found this book and am halfway through reading it now. It is a most interesting interpretation of the travels of Alexander. Have you read it? Did you like it? I have just finished reading the Gordion Knot and the Battle of Halicarnassus chapters, but will finish it to...

Yeah the guy hasn't been in much, but did a fairly good job being he didn't have any speaking lines, but some of the intense looks he had to do were good I guess. I will probably watch the other documentary this week and will definately let you know what I think of it. Don't get me wrong abou...

I agree that the battle scenes were pretty good. I used to be a member of the SCA and we did medieval reinactments and it looked like from the behind the scenes of the dvd that they used those type of people to portray the soldiers and battles. I did like that they talked about the phalanx and how ...

Re: Your role in the latter part of the 4th Century BCE.
Make no mistake, Bucephalus! For I was king of the world and when I walked or cantered all other studs and gildings stepped backwards out of my way execpt for the mares that were in *season* and every day there were more than a few! This is somewhat off topic, but has anyone here read I Am the Grea...

Re: The Pella Museum and Vergina Tombs
Kali mera, I also have some photos of the tombs (but only from the outside) You can't imagine how fantastic that new museum of the tombs is! I saw all the finds first in the Museum at Thessaloniki. Then when the tombs first opened I went down and cried in front of the tomb supposed to be Philip's a...

I can't get the link to work -- I get part of the page but the section where the text of the article should be is blank. Anyone else having this problem? Got a link that works? How odd. It was working before, but now I'm not getting anything either. Yahoo! News has the same article here: http://new...

Re: Late viewer of '300'
Honestly, I never imagined Xerxes as a bald, beardless man. I was quite stunned by how they portrayed Xerxes, but that's just me.Semiramis wrote:Ps. Who do you all think looks more like Xerxes would've? Cartoon guy or Movie guy?
