Re: Interesting scenes in the Alexander movie
HiThe film is due to open in the UK shortly and, in spite of it's reception in the US, I can't wait. I don't expect to take more than a few scenes as special memories - but if that happens, the movie will have done it's job for me. Poor Stone, he left out some battles! Which would you exclude? A hun...

Rough justice?
Am I right in thinking ATG had Hephaistions doctor crucified, and this only a few weeks before ATG himself died? I imagine ATG would have had his own doctor, or would they perhaps have shared? Rough justice maybe?

Re: Did Alexander have bad days
HiAlexander had many bad days. He was, I think, multi-layered, from spritual to brutal. I think it was Michael Woods who suggested that his increasingly heavy drinking was in some part to do with what he witnessed, and indeed, what he was responsible for. Human after all.

Re: Internet Curiosities on Alexander
Hi LindaThanks for these, they were great fun. I only wish I'd known which sites to avoid in my early search for the truth surrounding ATG. I trawled many, and, not surprisingly, believed Alexander to be a most unusual chap! Since sticking to Pothos, the truth is somehat easier to find, if at times l...

Re: Forum Members....ATG Influence
HiI guess you could ask why some people are fascinated with history whilst others would rather watch paint dry. Personally, I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be fascinated with the story of ATG, but, it seems some people would rather talk about the weather. I think if history is taught in an enlig...

Re: Robin Lane Fox
HiI saw the recent BBC 4 programme & RLF came over as a complete ATG nut - a life long fan, and he became quite emotional about the prospect of riding into battle, albeit in the movie. I hope the piece of film he featured in is used in the final edit. I too got the impression he felt Farrell was...

Re: Was Alexanders Life full of tragedy
HiPerhaps the only real tragedy is that he died with so much left to do - leaving history to only guess at what he would have achieved. Dare I draw a modern parallel with John Lennon, for example.Chris
