I noticed when I was researching the site I listed that as you said some of the Greek customs did merge with Persian. Alexander definately left his mark and had a hand in cultrural changes. There aren't too many figures from history that can claim that in my humble opinion.

How Alexander's dream of fusing the east and west was viewed

I often wondered what the Persians thought of Alexander's dream to join the east and west together to live in harmony. Did they just go along with it to appease him? Did they really think it could work and wanted it to? As we know from our readings of many classics the Macedonians weren't fond of th...

I found some interesting information about what happened with these marriages after Alexander died. From: http://www.iranchamber.com After Alexander's death, the old prejudices reasserted themselves. For example, out of eighty marriages with Iranian ladies, only one, that of Seleukos and Apama laste...

I know it is written that Alexander had a grand plan for Hephaestion's temple but it never happened because after Alexander died his successors didn't want to use "their" money to complete it so it was abandoned. I have found some information for you and hope this helps even though it may ...

Re: The coma

that Alexander appears to be in before finally being embalmed makes it appear that it was arsenic, and I believe that maybe Paul Doherty did write something to that effect also in his book on the death of Alexander. Correct me if I am mistaken about that. But I did think that only arsenic poisoning...

Hey I found something and am not sure if it is helpful or not. It's from an educational site. It has a history timeline: (see the October 317) Then, while Cassander campaigns in the south, Polyperchon and Olympias invade Macedon; Eurydike's army desert and she and Philip Arrhidaeus are captured and e...

From what I have researched your dates seems accurate and trying to find the exact date is somewhat frustrating! I have pulled out most of my books that I thought the information would be in and it's generalized and no exact dates are in them. I found the same thing online as well. I'll try to searc...
