Re: My avatar

Hi Beatriki, The person to argue with if you don't think it looks like Alexander would be Lysippos... possibly... or whoever carved the Pergamon head. I don't think Lyssipos has carved that bust, he was the creator of the superb Azara Herm (well, the bust that the Azara Herm copied), and to me it i...

Re: My avatar

The person to argue with if you don't think it looks like Alexander would be Lysippos... possibly... or whoever carved the Pergamon head. That's what I did -- took the Pergamon head and made it as lifelike as I could. I don't think Lyssipos has carved that bust, he was the creator of the superb Aza...

Hi Mark, I have a good memory of this book, since thanks to it I became a philaléxandros when I was 11 years old or so. But then, and as I made more readings about him, I got to know that Manfredi's books aren't the best historically speaking. I think he sometimes describes a "common hero"...

Jim Morrison also looks like Alexander Wink And he is bisexual too Surprised Nope, Morrison wasnt bisexual. Dont judge by Stone's movie (whiich i dont know if it had any scene that may suggested that). Morrison was a womanizer, but he also had a big love in his life, Pamela Curson. At least in the ...

The picture looks like a development of a famous Alexander head. I noticed even the different coloured eyes. Still look a bit too thin in the face. :( Kenny Yep, it is the bust that's in Athens  And yes, it hasn't got Alexander's famous "cheeks", maybe because the bust was made when...

Re: Karens Avatar

I have just thought who the picture of Alexander looks like. A few years ago there was a world champion darts player called Eric Bristow. Looksjust like the picture :) :!: Well, Karen's avatar is not the best reconstruction that is out there of Alexander's face, for me. His lips are too thin to be ...

Not to me. I don't care if he was homo, bi, hetero, or asexual, words that by the way didn't exist back then. I will admire him no matter what 8)

I would say Alexanders body to famous to be hidden and kept a secret in Alexandria. If its there why no great efforts by Egypt to find it. As the Article in the Magazine his body just may have been under our noses all the time. Exactly  Imagine what this discoverment could cause in society......

Why assume Alexander is still in Alexandria. If the stories are correct his body was destroyed. Besides if it were in Alexandria by now it would have been found. I would wager Napoleons boys did a good bit of looking. I think Napoleon would have loved to have found it. It's not that easy. Philip's ...

Hi there Andrew, Congratulations for all your studies. You sure inspire in us the belief that we shouldn't stop dreaming one day we will find Alexander's body. Keep the investigation if you can ;) Although I think Alexander's tomb may be lost somewhere down the streets of Alexandria. Kisses, Beatriki

I think Alexander was influenced equaly by Philip and his mother. As in another threat I believe Alexander became Great in spite of his father. Exactly  And I don't think no one could object to this, since Alexander was the only one in history that never lost a single battle. But who knows, envy is a powerful and destructive feeling... :?

Di Caprio is a good actor. But no, his style is not like Alexander's style. I think Farrell was far better as Alexander cause some times during the movie he got this expression like an apathy for almost anything. The same apathy and calmness that Alexander had when Parmenion tried to wake him up be...
