Re: Hiding treasure for eternity

Thank you for your reply
The book is bound to be interesting, since it includes such an extensive time period, but without wanting to sound sarcastic,i believe that the main reason one hides coin and jewelry somewhere is but one , to return at some point and collect them ! :D

Re: Crete .FotoS by G. Kamilakis

Kazantzakis is a great writer- he was nominated for the Nobel prize afterall-but his linguistic astonishing wealth makes it very hard to translate his works into other languages. For Crete and for Greece in general i would choose the british writer Patrick Leigh Fermor and the French writer Jacques ...

Re: Αρχαιολογικόν Δελτίον

Two more photos, the first from a nearby that shows the eight-shaped pins and if I am not mistaken 2 sword handles. Not even for such an important artifact does a better picture exist. Someone will have to visit the museum's storages himself/herself to see them. The last photo is the text on which y...

Do they say anything about the date? Snodgrass thought "early iron age" and Christopher Matthew thought "fourth ...

There are not photos -how valuable they would be ,since traces of wood were saved- but the dimencion of the spear is very precis...
